Aki na Pawpaw coming to Malawi
They are known widely for playing the role of Aki na Pawpaw in the 2003 Nollywood film Aki na Ukwa.
This film launched the acting careers of the two, now among celebrated Nollywood superstars.
Next month, avid followers of Nigerian movies will have a chance of meeting Aki, real name Chinedu Ikedieze, and Osita Iheme alias Pawpaw.
“We are hosting Aki na Pawpaw in September at an event where music will meet comedy. Other than the two coming, Nigerian gospel artist Agatha Moses is also coming,” said M Cinema managing director Udokporo Nathaniel.
The tour of Malawi is scheduled for September 26 to 28 with events spread across Lilongwe and Blantyre.
“We will have a gospel show in Lilongwe on Friday September 26 at Lilongwe Golf Club. We will have local artists like Kamuzu Barracks, Great Angels Choir, Marvellous Deeds, Ndirande Anglican voices, Lloyd Phiri and the Happiness Voices among others. The Blantyre show will be on the following Sunday at Blantyre Sports Club.
“At both venues, the local artists will perform a song with Agatha. They will rehearse the song which was also done by the Nigerian artists in readiness for the show. Aki na Pawpaw on the other hand, will do a comedy sketch with one of Malawi’s stand up comedian Diana ‘Dee’ Satha,” explained Nathaniel.
In between the two shows, M Cinema will premiere Aki na Pawpaw’s movie Twisted Desire, where people will also enjoy some time with the actors.
